Thought this subject would be of keen interest before -- but previous thread was moved to national politics. This further development takes the issue to the heart of California interests:

At the very least, Romneycare in California would be welcome if the SCOTUS follows Rush's marching orders like they seem to be and kill the ACA (which was Bob Dole's Heritage Foundation-approved health care plan back in the day).

Doesn't that read as, it can't survive in CA without massive amounts of Fed dollars from tax payers from other States? With that in mind, where do other States get their money if they adopt the CA State model?

Some people forget that, just as they forget we have a federally mandated healthcare payment from every working American currently, we all pay a medicare tax.

Actually, kinda funny you pose the Catch-22. California is a "donor state", as we all know. That is: we send more dollars to the Feds than we get back in Fed assistance. So this is more of a "refund" on what we send out, than anything back from others, no? Quite laughable in that context.

One might guess that, what with all the p*ssing and moaning around California (to say nothing of this forum) about various "benefits" issues, and how our tax dollars are being squandered -- well, this should come as a bit of [comic] relief. In an ironic kind of twisted way.
