Its just a place to live. We have the same concerns, wants and desires as anyone else. We work for a living, we love our families and friends and worry about the future. Same as anywhere. I wish people would stop trying to make it sound like were from another planet or that we are the polar opposite to any other American. We're just people, its just a state. Nothing to see here, move along.

Hear, hear! The extremists get all the media coverage, and it creates a distorted view of what Californians are really like. I think people would be amazed if they knew how normal most of us are.

Promise you won't tell anyone but in actuality, while I'm decidedly a fiscal conservative, socially I'm really a moderate, tending toward being a libertarian. I believe very strongly that government should get out of our private lives. Admittedly, I do take some shots at California, but usually those are restricted to its governance which, for far too long, has been fiscally irresponsible. Other than that there still is much to love about the state of my birth, and I do.

Sadly the chemicals won’t kill you. It’s the couch and the TV.

Chemicals = cancer = death.

Couch + TV = obesity = health complications = death.

However, one need only breathe near a couch, not actually be on it, to inhale chemicals.

Luckily, most things in moderation won't kill you, though. So, limit inhaling near furniture and you're good to go.

What an arrogant and stupid statement. It won't effect your marriage one bit unless you're some sort of closet gay who intends to abandon your wife and run off to get married to another man.
