Everyone that purchases the items listed on the website have to pay a waste fee of $6.00-$10.00.I actually returned the tv to walmart cause it wasnt as good as i thought & got a full refund.Im just gonna buy a used tv & ca will not get a dime from me.They steal enought from the the residents of ca & visitors.

The $10 for a TV doesn't bother me as much as the $0.05 an aluminum can. The TV will last at least 10 years, the way we drink soda it's over $100 a year extra and we don't get the money back. It goes in the recycling bin and the city takes it away. That is the city can take it away on the rare occasion when people don't come along in a beat-up truck and take all the cans and cardboard out of the recycling bins.

You could recycle it yourself and get the money back.

True but I'd have to have a place to store the cans as they accumulate which I don't, the recycling center pays less than the redemption fee, and none of the stores around here have the machines that take individual cans and pay per can. Now that cities provide recycling bins that most everyone uses it's time to drop the tax or at least allow me to itemize it on my state tax return.

In ca the avg recycling center pays $1.55 lb.for aluminum cans.Just rinse out the soda can after use & put cans in a trash bag in the garage.It adds up.I have made anywhere from $11.00-$55.00 on recycling alum cans,plastic 2 liters/water bottles & glass.Its worth it to save & recycle.My sister doesnt & she refuses to save for me.She just trashes the lil water bottles.2 liters & cans.ugh !
