Wasnt there a group of people who were wanting to sue the state because many of Covered CA plans werent accepted at many health care facilities (inaccurate provider list)? I remember AP or another news source running a story on this a couple months back.

I think you have it backwards. The *state* was considering suing *insurance companies* for fraudulantly providing inaccurate provider lists. "Covered CA" is simply an exchange : it lists any insurer that wishes to participate with their coverage level(s), providers, and prices. Suing CCA for inaccurate information provided by the insurance companies would be like suing the post office because amazon didn't mail you what you actually ordered.

That sounds right, though either way, it highlights the fact that many places dont accept the insurance offered on the exchange, and theres many cases of people having to travel long distances to find places that take the insurance.

I agree it's absurd the government thought they could reason with the for profit insurance companies. I missed the single payer Canadian system.

I agree with your point actually.

As a side note, it still doesn't preclude the fact that Obamacare, as it is, is a total disaster.

Folks, let's avoid "side notes" and stick to the subject/questions of the OP. (I'm just trying to avoid long, political opinion rants.)

But ... but ... but ... the side notes are half the fun of reading these comments. Maybe we should all just keep comments to 140 characters or less to avoid the fallout.

Mark Levin (love him or hate him) had it right right before the POTUS signed OC into law:

This fricken dictator-ed law is a messy "abortion".

Keep on meeting people who played by the rules and have gotten screwed by OC - real sad stories.
