Only 8 percent turn out is crazy for such a large city...

Quote:
With fewer than one out of 10 eligible voters casting ballots at Los Angeles polls Tuesday, America's second-largest city continued a pattern of shockingly low election engagement.

As of Wednesday afternoon, voter turnout in the city's municipal election was just 8.6 percent, the city clerk's office reported. It's the lowest voter turnout in a Los Angeles municipal election since 2003, The Washington Post found. Not all absentee and provisional ballots have been counted, so the turnout may rise slightly.

Good because we allow idiots to vote and morons don't vote for Republicans.

Voters just don't care in this state. It's notorious for low voter turn out. Then they wonder why things are the way they are. People should vote. If they don't vote, they can't complain and complaining is fun.

You do have a point.

You wonder, how hard is it for people to request a mail-in ballot?

It's the only way to go. I don't recall the last time I actually went to a polling station.

I probably should have said that they "shouldn't" complain, not "can't" complain.

Better than a bunch of people voting just because it is the thing to do.

Actually, the whole going to the polls thing is kind of a cool throwback practice. I do it for every election. Brings disparate people in the community together. Also gets one a bit more invested in the election, as the deed is followed by the march home to watch the returns.
