If you got outside, hopefully you enjoyed it. What a gorgeous New Year's Day! If you have any pictures of new year's day and want to share them from your area then let's see 'em. Here are a few from the Monterey Bay.

You know, you really need to stop posting these jaw droppingly beautiful photos. It’s causing me to consider retiring there (or Aptos/Capitola).

It was gorgeous, but today the wind stopped blowing and the fireplace smoke is stinking up the town again.

We've spent the past two days hiking in the Santa Cruz mountains. It's nice to have both Big Sur and SC so close and this whole area would be a great place to retire if one could swing it. Those first three pics are actually from SC - Big Basin Redwoods State Park. We biked & hiked to the waterfall early new year's morning to ring in the new year under the beautiful redwoods. While there this couple offered us some wine to toast the new year. It turns out they've been doing this same hike on new year's day for the past 20 years! And we saw them there 3 years ago at the same time. They're a real class act and had quite a spread of food, wine and cheese offering it to anyone who was there to celebrate. Cool people for sure.

His jaw-dropppingly beautiful photos are causing me to want to enroll in the Mtn Surfer School of Photography.

Do you give lessons, OP?

Haha, I like that name, Ruth! But no. Thanks for the compliments though. It's just a hobby I enjoy while out in nature - one I've probably spent way too much time on over the years. lol
