Very little left of a dam that failed and cost hundreds of lives.

I go to a shooting range up there frequently and the road washed out a few years ago and they made a new road in a slightly different location. When the old road was there I new right where it was.
There was a big sign at the power station telling about it but the sign is so faded it's gone.
I was at the library a few years ago and just happened to spot a book on it, very interesting.

I have; and I also suggest reading a recent book, "Floodpath: The Deadliest Man-Made Disaster of 20th-Century America and the Making of Modern Los Angeles" (2016) by Jon Wilkman. It is impeccably researched and exciting to read.

I have.

I went on a tour with the Santa Clarita Historical Society a few years ago, took the bus from William Hart park out to the dam site. It was during the day. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable.

There's been a time or two when I've used the back canyon routes to get from the San Fernando Valley up to Palmdale to visit my brother and parents. It's a nice "country drive".

I always get an "eerie" (no other way to describe it) feeling when I drive up San Francisquito Canyon Road to where the DWP station is. It's creepy. I went up that way at night once and I will never do it again.
