In late August govenor Newsome passed California ab257. Ab257 is a fast food worker law that is supposed to take affect January 1st 2023.

Many fast food owners are opposed to ab257 arguing it will p
it them out of bussiness.

Will ab257 really put fast food restuarants out of bussiness??

It will be a disaster for these fast food employees to loose their jobs and see places go out of bussiness.

Right now fast food restaurant owners are trying to stop ab257 and let voters decide in 2024.

Im against ab257 because I feel for the fast food workers and restaurant owners.

What can we do to stop ab257??

My concern with ab257 is at quick service and fast food restuarants you will see longer lines and more overworked employees.

Will those longer lines extend all the way to Seattle?

Ok. Well it already passed so I guess that's the answer to your question.
Are your parents in Encino fast food franchisees?

So what in particular is going to doom fast food restaurants? Here's the bill. Normally I'm opposed to these sort of things just on general principle as there are way too many pointless laws but this one seems relatively flaccid. I'm not a fan of forming study groups or councils just for the sake of doing "something" but if you read ahead to section 1471, it goes out of its way to include two restaurant franchisees and franchisors (which would be the big hitters), along with two employees too. It might help if you explain the doom and gloom a little better although, since it's passed, there really is no putting that genie back in the bottle.
