IN SUMMARY

The state budget has dedicated enough money to start turning the Dos Rios Ranch Reserve in Stanislaus County into a state park. Floodplain restoration will create green jobs, flood control, groundwater recharge and much-needed recreational space for San Joaquin Valley residents.

Hey, lookie this! Some good news on the CA forum, for an exciting change of pace! Praise be to Tulemutt; he's such an asset to this forum! Spreading good news and cheer out of the goodness of his heart.

Interesting article. They're actually concerned with groundwater recharge, and are doing something about it. Now there's a constructive use of the state budget, if I ever saw one! You know, with all that extra $$ Gov. Newsom found. Aren't state budget surpluses wunnerful?

Thanks for posting, 'Mutt. Keep up the good work.

Nice post there mutt.
It is really cool that they are considering recharging the ground water.
Sounds like a win win thing.

How are they going to "recharge" it?

Well….
I’m no expert but I do drink well water.
If this is a flood prone area with the proper soil and remains undeveloped it could in fact act as a funnel to our aquifers.
By keeping it undeveloped it would increase the quality of the water.
Most spring water companies (not to be confused with purified drinking water companies) keep their lands clear of cattle leases and agricultural chemicals.

I did have several large spring water companies as clients in a past life .
