I noticed it gets to hot and foggy in some places but how far inland does it get nasty hot from the coast? I think anything north of Santa margarita or east for that is way to hot I do not like it over 80.

Then we got the other problem Kindergarten elementary schools that are not sub standard.....

I want to live rural on over 20 acres but I can't do the 1mil what is available
I am looking at Lompopc and Santa maria but are the schools horrible?

I have lived in Northern Nevada for 6 years and me and husband both hate it to hot.

He is born and raised in Los Angeles but now with children I don't have the big money for a nice horse ranch in OC.

I am also looking at Sequim,Wa but with the 80% overcast in Oct Nov Dec Jan Feb I don't think I can take it long term.

On the other hand I do not want my son to just grow up with a lousy education/child environment with gang culture and graffiti as part of the school experience .

I also know I do not like more than 4 inch of rain in a month or I would move
to Northern California in a heart beat but 12 inches of rain in a month save me..

Has any one have lived up there is it livable?

Would love input on climate Nevada and Arizona is out of the question husband refuses to go to east coast.

Default Lompoc etc

Hello,
We live in Lompoc and it rarely ever hits 80 degrees. I only have experience
with the high school in Vandenberg Village, and it was a good school, my
son graduated from there. Its not a terrible area, just expensive. But house
prices have fallen some. If you move here, I would advise Vandenberg
Village, just a few minutes from Lompoc. Its nicer out there!

I feel your pain! I am in the same boat, except I want to be back in New
Mexico.I am in CA at the moment, a foggy crappy town, and I SO want
to be in sunny, dry NM, and feel life is eeking by. Just waiting on my hubbys
transfer to happen. Its frustrating to say the least. Heres hoping it happens
for you and me.
