I just wipe mine out with paper towels, then prop open the door with the paper towel roll. I set it in the lower door shelf cocked out..

And some charcoal briquettes in a bowl will absorb any odors

I fold over a hand towel and hang it over the door. That keeps it ajar.

My last refrigerator had a door latch that could be latched shut when traveling and fastened ajar when the trailer wasn't in use. The pin was permanently hooked onto the latch with a chain so it couldn't be lost. It might be possible to replace the latch on your fridge with something like that.

My current fridge just has the latch that holds the door closed, thus the folded towel to keep it from closing all the way when not in use.

(during winter, the trailer is kept plugged in and the heat on, so the fridge is simply left closed but running)
