I bought a used MH that has a "basic" Wineguard dish and am using my SD DirecTV receiver from my house.

I have the coordinates but when no matter what I do I can't get a blip of a signal.

I think the problem is with the receiver setup menu. It asks you to select your dish type. The problem is it only lists types and not brands, plus I can't select some of the choices. It just jumps over that choice when I scroll to it. There is a generic dish option but I can't get to it.

Ideas?

Default Locating the satellites

With a smart phone and the app; Dish Pointer, you'll be able to see where the satellites are on your phone, by pointing your phone in front of the dish towards the general direction of the coordinates....it's a slick app...cost is $20....worth ten times that amount to get rid of the frustration of hunting for the satellites.

If you are having receiver troubles.....good luck dealing with DTV.
