Healthcare aint free, we pay for it through our taxes, when i was working tax for healthcare ran about $50 per paycheck on a $50K income, Can add up if the wife also works and if older stay at home kids also work. As well most working people carry private insurance ($25 to $50 per paycheck) to cover glasses, dental, prescriptions and other medical incidentals. Can get expensive but the upside is you are covered from cradle to grave whether you are working or not.
Next time some one tells you Canadian healthcare is free tell em they're full of shyte..
As for the people up here? they come in all shapes and sizes.

You need to be more specific about where in Canada you'd like to move.

You'll also need a valid route to immigration.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada

What do you do for a living, and of what country are you a citizen? As for healthcare, it is universally accessible for all Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents at no charge as long as they have a health number issued by their provincial government. And yes, of course because the government is paying for it that does mean it's financed through taxes, but it also does mean everyone is covered no matter how much in taxes they pay. I'd say how friendly Canadians are depends on your cultural frame of reference, where you are in Canada, and how you define the term. I, however, think people are indeed generally friendly.

If you are serious about moving to Canada, I think a good start would be to visit the area you'd like to move to as a touirst first, to see if it indeed is a place you could see yourslf living. You should also identify an area that has the kind of employment, lifestyle, or educational programs you are interested in. So, what are you interested in getting up to if you do come to Canada?

The health insurance premium is pretty high.
Many people have the wrong idea that anything related to doctors/hospitals /medication is free in Canada. Fortunately they are not.
