How much do you think my insurance average will be for a car worth 2k to 3k? That's what I'm looking to buy, in that range. I have zero accidents, clean license, clean record. I am looking for liability only. And I am 30 years old. Living in California, OC.

Go ask an insurance agent or go online to insurance websites and get quotes.

I tried calling, and they told me I needed the cars information like miles, model ect. Every car is different, I told them I am in the process of buying one worth 2k to 3k. They need more information. So that is why I ask in this community forum, for an estimate of what I might pay. Thanks......

Insurance is a scam. It isn't about how much it will cost to insure you, but rather how much you are willing to pay. You have to shop around to get the lowest price. That is why nobody can tell you how much it will cost.

It's not just the car's information, it's your information as well.

Pick a car from Craigslist that fits your parameters, just to use as an example.

Then go online to car insurance websites where you can put in all your information and the car's information and get a quote.

You don't have to buy and you can change the information when you do buy.

OK, we live in California and just bought a used car for $1500. Adding it to our insurance was $43/month. We have liability only (plus the mandatory uninsured motorist coverage, etc.) but we do have some discounts like multiple cars, good driver, etc.

If your income is under $30,000, this may help you.

With just liability, that looks about right. What is your coverage? That's what really matters.
