Our hearts are broke. Our boy Tuppence died in his sleep valentines day.
He had spent the morning doing his usual things, even pushing his face in the feed bag because we weren't fast enough with serving it up. He had been sick for a while, but had improved and was back to being the"cat".
When we adopted him, they guessed 3 years old, so he would have been about 15 yrs old. I miss him helping me with my computer work!
I am saddened to learn of your loss. In time, perhaps another may come into your home to give you joy and peace (and assistance with your computer), but he/she will never "replace" Tuppence. Nor would he or she wish to...
Thanks everyone for your kind words. Only true animal lovers understand the loss. When we first adopted him, he hated us. He was a mans cat. Everytime a man showed up, he was all over them. Imagine his hell when he realized he was going to live forever with two women!! He finally adjusted and all was well. We were unwilling to take him back to the shelter, not knowing if he would get adopted. He refused to tolerate us at all for the longest time. It took months before he would sit in my lap. After that, anytime I sat, he would insist on being in my lap. He still would go bonkers everytime a service man or delivery man come to the door.
Ah, Blutime, my condolences. The most difficult circumstance we as fur-Moms and fur-Dads is saying goodbye to our beloved angels. May God be with you during this time of heartache and tears, and with time, may only the good memories remain of Tuppence to lift your spirit and bring smiles to your face.
Peace.
