Happy 4th of July to you too! I love fireworks but not my cats. There will be 4 very stressed kitties in this house. It's a shame they don't make ear plugs for cats.

Happy 4th to you, too. I am just worried about the outdoor cats I feed. Mine will be safe inside.

Thank you! I doubt we are doing anything. We have been invited but neither of us care to be in the heat amongst a lot of people....

The last time I did anything for the 4th was in 2011. I went to the Mall in DC and it was very pretty and the people acted like they had sense.....

Surprising but true!

I have DC on my bucket list - always wanted to go there and drool at all the historical places and see the famous architecture and statues, also the Holocaust Museum. Not gonna happen anytime soon unfortunately Regardless of what you do or where you end up, have fun, eat some wonderful food, and have a good time!! We are staying home also, and planning to grill out on the deck. If you stand on tippy toes you can see some fireworks from the deck.

My old house was right near a baseball field where our minor-league baseball team played ... they do fireworks there every July 4th. I loved the view from my driveway (as did a bunch of strangers who came to my street for the day -- 99% were very polite & friendly so I didn't mind!) but my kitties were always terrified.

Wishing everyone (especially you Candace!) a wonderful Independence Day.

Thank you, Karen. Not sure if you noticed my new and improved status - but hubby finally can declare his independence from UNEMPLOYMENT!!! Woohoo!!!! Um, er', ok now.....carry on!!!
It's supposed to be pleasant and sunny here tomorrow - will be relaxing a bit and just enjoying the day. Give the kitties a squeeze from me, and you have some fun tomorrow, girl!!!!
