LONDON, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- A Bolivian man was spared deportation by a British court that ruled sending him home would interfere with his family life -- with his cat.
The Asylum and Immigration Tribunal ruled the man, whose name was not reported, could remain in Britain after he told the judges his joint ownership of a cat with his girlfriend was evidence he was settled in the country, the Daily Mail reported Monday.
