Thought I had experienced all the many ways felines try to wake me up...but

my cat Gracie used her cold, wet nose to root it up one of my nostrils! And she kept pushing and pushing it!

...hope she quits that annoying way of getting me up. I couldn't help but laugh but it was also a shock to wake to that wet nose.

Apparently she thought there was something worthwhile in there. Unfortunately for you, she knows what works now.

When I was a teenager, I discovered my cat liked the taste of my earwax. Yeah, yuck.

So maybe the cat is hungry and ... wants something tasty to eat.

That is too funny Ms. Heron.
That would definitely get my attention. Mine stick their nose in my ear, (or my eyelids) as James mentioned.

Nose in ear....cold and wet!
And gets you up, too.

My cat continues all types of antics until I get up to feed her....I also feed her late at night to prevent her empty tummy in early AM....but obviously it doesn't work...
