Good morning friends,

I've been away from CD for a year.....just wanted to share a wonderful event - I adopted a kitten! I'm so happy to have a fluffy, bundle of love to care for.

Particularly since he gives so much in return....I feel like the luckiest person alive.

Anyone else feel honored to be a cat parent?

Oh my yes. I consider myself privileged that they choose to share their lives with me. But they should come with a couple of public service warnings........

1. "Kittens are like potato chips. You can't have just one".

and

2. "Kitten cuteness can be addictive to humans. Proceed with caution".

Personally, I can't get enough kitty cat love from Dumpling; I've discovered she has her limitations, however: she's let me know by paw and claw. And yes, she's an old puss, too.

OP, congratulations on the adoption of your new beastie bestie!

Oh yes, I forgot that one. It also needs to be added to that PSA I made above.
("There is no such thing as 'Free Kittens'").

O yea! Those divine creatures are truely masters of their own universe. Love my cats, even if they look at me as their slave

Update : I had to surrender my cat

After a couple of months I noticed there was something wrong with the kitten because he started destroying everything in the apartment.

I took him to the vet to rule out any physical cause.

He was diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed anti-anxiety drugs. He would not take his medicine no matter what method I tried.

I kept the cat for a couple of more years, hoping he'd outgrow it...no luck.

It's heartbreaking....pets can suffer from mental illness too.
