LOS ANGELES — Tom Hanks' arrival on a beat-up 1981 Yamaha Riva scooter at the Larry Crowne premiere Monday gave a glimmer of hope to the growing subculture of scooter riders across the country.
I hope the article is not trying to make us believe thet Hanks uses the scooter as his main source of transportation. Odds are there was a limo a block away and he drove the bike the rest of the way.
They were always a neat mode of transportation but I doubt that someone like Hanks at his age with his fame and money would go around on a scooter. Seems like a waste of time.
Ummm.... We used to call this a publicity stunt. His character in the movie rides a scooter.
