The biggest joke is nobody probably would've noticed those pics. The second thing is that there are others far worse. Plus the ones he's carping about are still there.
I clicked on the "Axl Rose Fat Meme Generator" link above the pics in the story. OMG, hysterical! But, it does kinda hurt to see him like this and the fun being made of him because it destroys the memories I had of the good times "back then", when his songs were playing and meant something emotional in my life. Bittersweet.
Axl was dormant for a while and returned to front not one but two hugely popular bands. Kudos to him. Recent photos show him in shape. We know he could be volatile and have an ego so its not surprising hes bothered by it. Makes no difference really as his career is on fire again.
Lots of memories listening to Appetite for Destruction on a walkman. I wore the tape out from repeat listening. The tape became like the "Night Train", ready to crash and burn. But I never learned......:-)
Very foolish. He just ensured that the photo will now be seen by far, far more people than had he said and done nothing.

The Streisand effect is the phenomenon whereby an attempt to hide, remove, or censor a piece of information has the unintended consequence of publicizing the information more widely, usually facilitated by the Internet. It is an example of psychological reactance, wherein once people are aware something is being kept from them, their motivation to access the information is increased.

The term invoked Barbra Streisand who had unsuccessfully sued photographer Kenneth Adelman and Pictopia.com for violation of privacy. The US$50 million lawsuit endeavored to remove an aerial photograph of Streisand's mansion from the publicly available collection of 12,000 California coastline photographs. Adelman photographed the beachfront property to document coastal erosion as part of the California Coastal Records Project, which was intended to influence government policymakers. Before Streisand filed her lawsuit, "Image 3850" had been downloaded from Adelman's website only six times; two of those downloads were by Streisand's attorneys. As a result of the case, public knowledge of the picture increased substantially; more than 420,000 people visited the site over the following month.

I was just reading that Axl Rose, Slash and Duff are going to be collaborating with AC/DC. Won't that be something?

Will be some really great rock music, Harking back to the old school days. Axl seems to have gotten easier to work with in his later years, The comeback is a huge success and I think will continue. Put the group of guys on a tour with the Rolling Stones, the Who, Van Halen (include DLR and Hagar) and Rush and it will be one for the ages.

It would be amazing to see.
You a lot of the same music that I do, I see.
Saw the Stones live back in the 70s, though, and they weren't good. It was entertaining to watch, but not to listen to. Maybe with today's technology, they sound better live.
The Who! They are 'my boys', my favourite band...along with The Beatles.
I love Rush, though never saw them live (yet) apart from watching Alex Lifeson perform on an episode of Trailer Park Boys with Bubbles.

I have watched Trailer Park boys and remember this episode. The boys "borrowed" Alex Lifeson I recall.
Rush is retired from large scale touring due to Neil's health issues. Maybe a final few tours will happen.
And Jim Lahey will be drunk yet again for the show!
