How sad. I really enjoyed him as an actor. In fact, I still watch Alice reruns every day because of him:

Yes, his sister is Nancy McKeon, who played Jo on The Facts of Life. Nancy and her family have a ranch in Austin TX and Philip also moved to that area five years ago.

His cause of death was withheld at his family's request.

There were rumors that Philip was gay because he was never seen with a girl. I never cared about that. I just thought he was so talented and so handsome.

Four days before Phillip McKeon died, Ron Leibman died.

Ron was the first husband of Linda Lavin (Alice), and she was his first wife.

The last years of their marriage equaled about the first half of the time Alice was a first run show.

I remember him most for the show that he created and starred in in the late 70s called Kaz, and for some guest appearances as a high ranking person in the DA’s office in the Law & Order series. Very recently, he had been the voice of Ron Cadillac on Archer.

Not too long after his divorce from Lavin, he married Jessica Walter, and they were married for over 35 years (until his death. Jessica Walters’ career spanned over 50 years. She started in television dramas in the 1960s. In 1971 she starred opposite Clint Eastwood in his directorial debut Play Misty For Me. Most recently, she’s been Lucille Bluth in Arrested development.

Wow, I remember Jessica Walter. I had to look up Ron Liebman, but now I know who he was.

She had a cameo appearance on Alice too, the guy that played the cop that was married to Vera had been found dead recently in some remote area and his body was torn up by vultures.

That's so bizarre, I just had to look up the details .

You're right. And apparently his dog met the same fate. It seems he was taking a very dangerous shortcut home, and had an accident:
