Chaz Bono, eight months into his gender reassignment, said he is now living the life he always wanted.
"I feel so much more comfortable that I've ever been," Bono told "Good Morning America" in an exclusive interview. "I've felt male as far back as I can remember."

I don't understand how someone can feel so compelled to change their identity that they'd endure years of hormonal treatments and surgeries to completely alter their bodies. What's up with that? Does it seem unnecessary to anyone else?
I am happy for Chas if this will bring happiness. Heck, it would be nice if everybody was happy. It still seems odd to me to go through such drastic procedures.

So, does that mean her girlfriend isn't a lesbian after all? I mean, they were together before the sex change, so will she still want to be with "Chaz" after Chaz becomes a man?

How about Elijah Blue having a sister now a brother? I think a mom can eventually accept what our children do because of our love for them. Moms may not like what our kids do but I think we will still love them. It would be hard in Cher's case for sure bet she had some big hurdles to over come.
I am confused on the relationship with the girlfriend though too.
I'm sure Chaze's girlfriend is still very much a lesbian and probably still sees Chaz as a lesbian too. It is naturally difficult for one to make the mental switch right away.
To me, I really believe people should do what it is that makes them happy in life. BUT, why after all this time is it necessary for the sex change? This is just my opinion but I feel that Chaz wanted to shock people and come clean about being a lesbian at one time when no one was coming out (can't hate her for that) and now has to be in the news for a sex change because I guess being a lesbian wasn't good enough. Does anyone know if she has a book coming out too? I wouldn't be surprised if both Chaz and Cher make an appearance on the Oprah show.
It just seems like after a certain age people get bored and want to try all kinds of different things, whether it be getting a divorce after many years of marriage, getting body piercings, selling the house and buying an expensive car, sailing all over the world, reassigning ones sex, men gay/straight wearing women's clothing, etc., why go through all the unnecessary changes and instead just hire a therapist to help you be happy with yourself? After a certain age, I just don't get the point of life altering changes that just don't impact you but takes everyone on the ride too????
