ive been told that the 4g lte models with the with the 4g sim card can run on both cdma and gsm. now weather your phone is unlocked or not is a different story. id'e call Verizon back and ask for there international dept and explain that you want to goto Europe and tell em that you would like to use a sim card over there instead of paying huge roaming charges and ask em if your phone will work in Europe with one of there sim cards over there. when you get back in the states all you have to do is pop the Verizon sim back in and your good to go.
No argument with you there. That's why I asked the question to the OP. I have an active iPhone 4 on my Verizon account and I know the difference between the model #'s.
An LTE SIM is not the same as a GSM SIM card. They do look similar though.
Understand, but I was replying to the poster saying that the iPhone 5 on VZ didn't use a SIM when it in fact does.
