Most likely. Some allow "OTA" updates. SUPPOSEDLY my Chevy Colorado allows this.. I can connect it to my home WiFi and ask it to check for updates. Guess that's more a "OTW" setup, but.. There's never been an update. Might want to look through your settings and see if there's anything there. Some I think you can update through USB.. I'm not a VW guy, so.. Can't say for sure.
Talk to your dealership. Being a '15.. You'll probably have to pay for it. If it were newer, they'd probably do it as a courtesy.. And your dealership might. Just be prepared if they don't.
And, being a dealership, that software upgrade will probably cost a couple hundred. But.. Being a VW, and being software.. It's less likely that a third party shop will have the equipment and subscriptions to perform an update.
I'd also recommend you ask this in the VW forum. Some good, smart VW specific folks there who will probably know the answer right away.

FWIW.. Seeing some things out there about this

and from what's said on the many updates.. Turning off EQ may help, but the one person who got a 'fix' it was a software update from Toyota. Read through that link. i'm not a cult member, so.. Neither VW or Apple.
