For some reason, my iPhone SE 2020 is not showing current my email. Sometimes in the past, it told me I had to put my email address and password in again and then it would update. However, the last several days, it says is is "checking for mail" but then will not show current email. I did restart the phone but still no current email. I do have my laptop that I use mainly for mail but still perplexed. I can't see where to sign out of email and then sign in. Would that help? Any thoughts??

I am not sure if it relates directly, but I have seen since yesterday that AOL is offering a new version of its email program.
Is data active on the phone or does it connect to Wi-Fi instead? Is Airplane mode turned off or on? It should be turned off. Have you checked if the iOS is current on the phone?
I have that phone, and I remember having trouble too. I had no idea what my hotmail password was and the only phone number they had to send me a code was a landline. Ultimately, I figured out that outlook and hotmail were the same, so used my outlook password.
All I can tell you is keep working on it, and use google to ask your questions, and maybe the answer will come.
If it doesn't, delete your email account and re-add it. You email is safe 'in the cloud'. This won't hurt a thing. I do this al the time with people's iPhones.
Thank you for all the responses. I tried going to settings and "fetching" the mail but still no solution. I will continue to try your suggestions and I did Google some answers. There were some helps there. Fortunately, I used my laptop anyway for mail a big majority of the time. Thanks again.
