My son was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. He seems to be fine during the heat and humidity we have had the last week here in MD. However, the temps are low 70's and rainy today and he was achy. I was wondering if there were a few people in the Charleston area that could give me input on how the weather effects their arthritis. I am asking due to possibly relocating. Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry to hear about your son. I don't have RA, just wanted to give some weather observations. We have lots of 70-ish wet weather here, both in the spring and the fall. And the winters at least in my observation have been getting colder.

Have you considered looking further south, maybe the south Georgia coast or even Florida?

Thanks Caili. My mom recently moved to Florida so that may be an option also. I love the vibe and the culture that the Charleston area gives which is what drew me to it. We are new to dealing with this condition and are trying to find a way to make his life more manageable. After seeing him yesterday we may need a warmer climate than SC.

I wonder if you did more inland if it would be less humid? I hear humidity really bothers a lot of people with arthritis.

You guys are awesome! Sprouts, I thought the same thing however when it was hot and humid he seemed ok. The rain is what got him. Macalan, thanks for the link. I'll review them and try to get a better idea of the needed climate. Worst part of the whole thing is my son is only 10! Way too young for this.
