James Island has plenty of communities and amenities available that make it a great part of the lowcountry for families. What specifically were you looking for?

Try Bayview Farms, Harbor Woods (I or II), Lawton Bluff, Clearview, Lighthouse Point, and the area around Stiles Point Elem. (Mikell Drive, Stiles Drive, Godber St., etc.)...those are family-friendly subdivisions/neighborhoods in excellent school districts. The best elem. schools on James Island are Stiles Point Elem, and Harborview Elem., with James Island Elem. as the third alternative (I would stay away from Murray LaSaine Elem.). Fort Johnson Middle is the favorite middle school of most parents and students, although many also like James Island Middle. James Island Charter High School is very good with a lot of school spirit...very active band and athletic boosters.
Look forward to having your children in our wonderful school system!

There are about 18 homes available on the MLS in the above neighborhoods and your price range (between 200k and $320k). Depending on age, condition, features, etc., there's plenty to choose from on James Island. I think it's a fantastic place to look for a home. I wish you the best.
