Where the old Italian restaurant is, which is now a vacant building. My understanding is they are planning on purchasing that property and erecting it where the building now stands.
Sure. Put in a parking deck. Maybe Tanger can come down here and pave the entire waterfront. Put in a bunch of crappy chain restaurants and "outlets" so that the tourons won't have to think too hard about where to spend their money.
I'm all for progress but it seems like that area should be preserved. I never have a difficult time finding parking when I frequent the places on the water. Maybe I go on off times? I didn't read the article so maybe I'm missing a lot of information.
Over near the gas station on the RB's/Red's side of Shem there's a defunct Italian restaurant. What I hear is that the town is planning on buying that lot and the one behind it (can't see from the road) for the parking garage. It won't be a direct eyesore on the creek itself, but it will be a 5 story concrete building and you just have to drive 1 mile east of Shem to see what 5 story buildings do to a landscape (656 Coleman Blvd).

Yeah, trust me, I'm all for it personally. I fish of the pier there quite often and there's never enough parking, so having a garage is an awesome idea for the businesses there. I just wish they'd consider a 3 story instead of a 5.
The thing about this is.... will it be 5 parking stories? Normally a story for a garage is about half a story for a normal building give or take, add in the roof and i doubt this 5 story garage will reach to where the top of Reds
