Quadrangle Shopping Center is a retail center located at 630 Skylark Drive, Charleston, South Carolina 29407-1718, on Skylark Drive between Sam Rittenberg Boulevard and Savannah Highway in the City of Charleston in Charleston County, South Carolina.
Quadrangle Shopping Center was initially anchored by supermarket Piggly Wiggly operated by Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company. Piggly Wiggly's Quadrangle Shopping Center store was among twenty-two stores Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company divested to BI-LO Holdings (now Southeastern Grocers) in 2013. It became BI-LO #5751.
BI-LO #5751 was not among ninety-four BI-LO, Fresco y Más, Harvey's Supermarket, and Winn-Dixie stores Southeastern Grocers announced to close in its restructuring announcement on Thursday, 15 March 2018. ("Restructuring." Southeastern Grocers.) It was among six BI-LO and Harvey's Supermarket stores Southeastern Grocers was divesting to Piggly Wiggly operators BI-LO #5751 was divested to PW Grocers. It closed in April.
Piggly Wiggly was projected to open at Quadrangle Shopping Center Friday, 4 May.
I was in the area and decided to visit Piggly Wiggly #199 at 630 Skylark Drive, Charleston, SC 29407.
All of the Bi-Lo merchandise was replaced with Piggly Wiggly merchandise. The prices were competitive and the associates were friendly. They accept Apple Pay, which was nice.

Piggly Wiggly, through PW Grocers, could be successful. It needs to find success where Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company and BI-LO failed. A start would be focusing on the necessities of food (grocery, meat, produce, seafood) and pharmacy. The store is in a pharmacy desert.

I think both Costco and Target have pharmacies. Isn't their also a rite aid or walgreens in the Food Lion shopping center abother 1/4 mile down 17?
West Ashley Town Center has drugstore CVS #3801, 2152 Savannah Highway, Charleston, South Carolina 29414-5311, and wholesale club Costco #360, 3050 Ashley Town Center Drive, Charleston, South Carolina 29414-5664, with pharmacies. Costco Pharmacy #360 is exclusive to Costco members only.
Have to add- they need to focus on the hot bar. The Pig always had the best hot bar with actual real sides worth eating and my preferred grocery store meats. I'd pick their fried chicken over any other store- even WF.

Unconfirmed rumor here, but allegedly the owners are looking to put in a pharmacy and a floral department. (Wine was moved into the existing floral department.) If I had to guess, they may be looking at taking in an adjacent store. Otherwise, I'm not sure how they could squeeze a pharmacy in there.
The nearest pharmacies are the CVS inside of Target, the CVS by Food Lion on Savannah Highway, and the Walgreens on 61. (The Rite Aid across from Walgreens is closing.)

Also, I think Teeter on Sam Ritt has a pharmacy.
Piggly Wiggly's Quadrangle Shopping Center store needs a serious remodel. I doubt anything has changed at the store since my visit in 2000. If Piggly Wiggly does add a pharmacy, it will be competitive with Harris Teeter #410, Westwood Plaza, 1812 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard, Unit 2, Charleston, South Carolina 29407-4824. Food Lion #1691, West Ashley Town Center, 2144 Savannah Highway, Charleston, South Carolina 29414-5312, would be decimated.
