It appears Craigslist is now charging for to post an ad for basic labor like raking leaves or finding tradesmen. Does anyone know of any other sites that would have visibility in Charleston for posting such requests for labor or trades and services?
If this keeps up, I'll just come out of retirement from writing websites for 20 years and build one. I used craigslist very often to find laborers and sell little things and now they screwed that up.
FB is a good suggestion too. In the case of looking for tradesmen, I think the anonymity of Craigslist is not a plus. At least when someone recommends someone on FB or Nextdoor, you can look into who is doing the recommending and even message them for more information. Of course you'll still run into folks who are simply recommending their friend/husband/son, etc.
My neighborhood alone has 4 pages. If you live in a subdivision, it may have its own facebook pages.
Try searching for "Charleston....buy, sell, trade, marketplace, area marketplace" or the same key words for N. Charleston and other areas you want to connect with.
You usually have to join the pages, and sometimes have to give your address to prove you belong in that group.
