I see the property listed on the MLS...I would only imagine that the business is closed. Is this true...or did they move somewhere else? Anyone know what happened? I never got a chance to try it out...wasn't open long.

Jay

I don't buy the claim that the economy was the problem. They were on a heavily traveled road, and good BBQ places will get business.

Yeah -- it isn't even a year old. Sounds like it may have been opened without much consideration for a slow start up. Even in a good economy a business needs time to get into the black. Too bad -- sounds like Charleston needs some good bbq.

The property is listed on the MLS for $5,000/month plus $25k for equipment. That's some STEEP rent for a bbq joint!

Last week on the news it was reported that two nurseries in Mt P are closing because of a slow economy. They interviewed one of the owners and he said many businesses are hurting. It's definately a scarey time right now. I do wonder if we are heading towards another depression. A friend of mine's grandmother has been telling him how to survive a depression because she feels that's where we are headed as well.

Many of the nurseries here in Atlanta closed in the last two years. Some operate on a seasonal basis. For us it was the drought. People couldn't plant because they couldn't water.

Eventually the economy will pick up. People/businesses/govt. just need to pull back and regroup. It's like after a binge of drinking or eating -- time to just slow down and recover....so we can go back to binging again. No -- I'm just kidding. Some feel this is a sign -- (signal choir of angels singing) -- that we were all over indulging.....blah, blah, blah.

I think it is was happens when people, businesses and govt. live beyond their means. You can only spend money you don't have for so long. Now those of us who were careful are paying the price as well....sigh -- not fair as usual.
