So, we will probably be ready to relocate from Birmingham, AL in less that one year from now. It looks like we will probably have enough down payment to afford a $150,000-$170,000 home, possibly a little more if we don't have any major expenses before then. We want to live in Summerville, and would like to know from folks who truly know the area where we would be able to live if we want a new home (prefer new construction, but less than 5 years would be ok), 2000sf or more, 4br or 3 and a bonus, and in Dorchester schools. Am I being unrealistic? What do you think? What would some good options be?

If you want to stay in Dorchester II and need four bedrooms in that range you are looking at Wescott Plantation, Waterside Landing, Bridlewood Farms, Brookwood, Summerhaven, Drakesborough, and Eagle Run. There are currently 21 houses on the market right now that fit all of the criteria you indicated, so yes you are being realistic. I sent you the houses in a private message.
