Hi Folks.
We are going to be making a trek from New Hampshire to Lexington, KY in the next couple of weeks, and traveling through your state appears to be one of the best options--certainly the most picturesque. I'm hoping for some advice on the best route through, and avoiding any extremely remote, mountainous routes, or any areas with extended delays due to road construction. This is ONE of the tentative routes:

I84 from Massachusetts to Scranton, PA
I81 from Scranton, PA to Hagerstown, MD
68W to Morgantown, WV
79S to Charleston, WV
64W to Lexington, KY

ON PAPER, this seems to be one of the best routes, HOWEVER, coming from another rural (though much smaller state) I am aware that sometimes what appears to be the best route is NOT at all recommended.

I will also be looking to stay overnight somewhere near the Maryland/WV/PA border-can anyone recommend a small city/large town with decent accommodations for a family of 4?

If anyone here has been on a similar trek and can make recommendations, I'd love to hear your advice Thanks so much!

(cross posted in the main WV and Morgantown forums)
