Also, contrary to what others here have said, FAs in CLT are working every single day they are on duty. Trust me, I know. So they won't be able to get part time jobs. That would simply be impossible unless they had total flexibility over what days they could work part time and could leave at a moment's notice if they got quick called. And yes, that happens...often.

Its hard to explain the nuances of this job but trust me when I say that 89 people will have their lives upended in a few weeks. But again, they will ultimately have to make the choice to move, commute or quit. Sometimes reality bites.
FlightAttendant, if you run into any & they have questions, be sure to tell them they can post here. I came down from the South Jersey suburbs of Philly, & it was a hard decision to leave. I like it where I am now, but it was hard to leave. I imagine that the ones who come will be shell-shocked. 6 weeks isn't much time to prepare for this.

Very kind, SouthBound. I have already alerted those who I know who are coming down. I know this site helped me ease into living here and I recommend it to all who are moving.

Nice folks on here (most of 'em anyway). Thanks.

Thanks, FlightAttendant. I remember when the merger happened & it was mentioned in the local media, there, that most of the Allegheny people lived locally. The girl who was interviewed had one of the Philly accents. Charlotte is nice, but so is Philly, & this gives them little time to prepare before being dumped into a strange place. It's really not so different here, but to go from knowing where everything is to knowing nothing about what is in the area is jarring.
