Anyone know anything about this motel or the area? Safe? Thanks!

Ech! I stayed there during my visit to Charlotte not knowing any better, and I do NOT recommend it! I didn't think the area was unsafe, per se, but I wouldn't stay there again. There's an Embassy Suites (I think) right up the street if that's in your price budget. Let's put it this way -- I was glad I brought my slippers!!!

Seconding searpr's reply, Yuck! I'm a relo to Charlotte and stayed their for 2 days before moving to a different place. I wouldn't stay there again, it's not very clean. There's an Extended Stay Hotel not too far from the Days Inn. It's the Homestead Studio Suites over on Yorkmont (few hundred feet down from the corner of S. Tryon and Yorkmont). I've been staying there for a while. It's a bit nicer and cleaner than the Days Inn (though it's no Ritz Carlton for sure). Price is about the same as the Days Inn. Embassy Suites would probably be nicer but pricier. Good luck.

HOw funny i stayed there too when I came to scope out the area. I back the Eech effect.

There are way nicer hotels in the area with alot less traffic and congestion then this area. The traffic is so HEAVY over there.

Woodlawn isn't all too close to Carowinds. But it's not a good area especially at night. There are some suite hotels on Yorkmont near Tyvola and you may get some good deals. It's close to Woodlawn, but not a whole lot of residence nearby, so nowhere as much crime. There is also a Day's Inn at Exit 82 in Rock Hill, SC (Carowinds is exit 90) and while that area isn't all too visually appealing, it's much safer.

Default Thanks!

Thanks to all of you for your responses. They will be staying near the Carolina Mall instead. That area okay?

The Hampton Inn & Suites is nice in that area, or across the street near the BestBuy is the Holiday Inn Express which is also nice.
