Crews repair misspelled sign on I-277 - News14.com

...and nobody noticed (or cared) when it was installed last Thursday.

Quality control anyone?

Speaking as someone who drives through that area often I can say that I would not have noticed because I don't look at the signs. I just know where to go.

It's sad that none of the people involved with that sign noticed the misspelling.

I've heard people pronounce Independence as Indepednence, more often than you'd think. It wouldn't take much to get to that mispelling from there.

At least they didn't spell it Independance.

I never would have noticed either. If its where I think it is, I'm always too busy trying to merge over 2 lanes to stay on 277 to be looking at the road signs.

I just watched the video and some of the comments were cracking me up.

"Oh, wow! That's what kinda crap we get here in North Carolina."

The one lady seemed to think that email spell check had something to do with putting up a sign. Not sure what she was getting at. Was the sign painted with Microsoft Word?

The best part is that I got to see a Rug & Home commercial. Jamie makes me want to buy contemporary furniture.
