The retailer stopped advertising on TLC's "All-American Muslim" after a conservative group known as the Florida Family Association complained, saying the program was "propaganda that riskily hides the Islamic agenda's clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values."

So the state senator wants to boycott Lowe's to make them reinstate their ads on this show. So why not boycott Home Depot and every other company who also are not advertising on the show? You can't force advertisers to support a specific show.

Well, that's not excatly true. You can "force" an advertiser to support a show by boycotting them which the Senator has every right to do.

Further, it's one thing for an advertiser to simply choose not to advertise on a show and quite another to dop your ads when some knee jerk reactionary group such as the FFA makes baseless claims.

I also read that he is considering some legal action, which I don't know he has a base for. But then again, I am not a lawyer. I'm just a caveman who fell into some ice and was thawed out by your scientists.

Lowe's should be able to choose where they want to (or don't want to) spend their money. If they disagree with the show, pull the plug. It's a free country. The show is most certainly agenda driven... or it simply would not exist.

I'm failing to see the problem. If someone wants to pull their ads, they pull their ads. Who cares what the subject matter of the show is? Just another example of our sue-happy country getting all wound up about nothing of any importance.

Relax, people.

Right, it's a free country. So people are also free to call for a boycott.

So what next? Don't let "them" come into your store cause it makes "some people unhappy"???? I don't agree or disagree with there choice, this is a "free country" BUT have a better excuse.
