Recently in our neighborhood, like many others, there have been a number of foreclosures and abandoned homes.

A few weeks ago this company put some flyers on our doors regarding a home down the street where the family moved out and nobody has lived there since last fall. It said they've "secured" the property and to call an 8xx number if the property becomes "unsecured."

I think I know what this means, but not sure since I've never had one of these things put on my door. Does anyone know this company and what they do? Can I assume the bank has taken that house, locked it up and is going to sell it off soon?

Also curious about how quickly people are seeing foreclosed homes being put back on the market or auctioned off? Is it faster than before? I can't really tell from the homes around here, and I'd hate to see these houses sit empty for too long. Kind of wondering what the timeline is these days for a bank to go thru the process and actually take a home and sell it again.
