I'm tired of working for other people, working the hours they want me to work. I have a family and I want my own business/set my own hours.

Excellence can be obtained if you:
...care more than others think is wise;
...risk more than others think is safe;
...dream more than others think is practical;
...expect more than others think is possible.”

What are you good at? What skills do you have that people would pay for? How much are you willing to risk?

Word of warning... don't go in to business for yourself because you want to work less and think the hours will be better.

When its your own business you are never "off" you will be working a lot more than a salaried employee, and often for a lot less $$ (at least initially)

Being the boss is a lot more stressful than most people think, especially if you have employees... because then you aren't just worried about you and your family, you have to worry about your workers and their families... because they will all be counting on you to make the business work.

Now you have been warned, if its still what you want... do something you love to do, and put some of your own money away for startup costs... you don't want to start off in debt if you can help it.
