Looking for room to rent for the summer? (Charlotte: apartments, schools)

My nephew has been accepted in this new program to be a teacher in the city schools, however, he has to take special classes over the summer before he would become certified. Since he has to take classes and not being paid, he needs an inexpensive place to live until he, hopefully, passes and actually gets the job. Does Charlotte have temporary rooming or small studio apartments that he could rent for about $400.00 a month? Thanks for any information.
