There is a woman that I have been communicating with for a little while and we are supposed to go on a dinner date. I do not live in Charlotte and neither does she (but both live nearby), so we figured Charlotte would be a good meeting place.

We have already planned for a dinner date on Friday, so I would like to know what would be a good restaurant in Charlotte to take her to? Preferably one that allows for a decent amount of privacy and, if possible, one that is near a park or somewhere nice that we may be able to take a walk or something afterward if the dinner date goes well. I am really hoping to put out all stops to make the date go as wonderful as possible, so if anyone has any ideas of what else I could do, feel free. Thanks!

One of the restaurants in the Metropolitan like Dresslers or Pisces Sushi Bar would be ideal for your walk afterwards as they sit right on the Sugar Creek Greenway. I have not been to either of these restaurants though - perhaps someone else can speak for them. There is a Hickory Tavern also, but this would not be good for a first date IMO.
I can't think of any other restaurants by a park.

I haven't gotten a chance to try it yet, but I've been meaning to try the McNinch House for a nice dinner date (pretty pricey though). Not familiar with it specifically, but there is also Fourth Ward park nearby, or you could go to a bar or two uptown.

A nice stroll in uptown or in a small town might be nice if you can't find a park top stroll in at night. I can't think of quiet restaurants as the ones I like are usually loud and boisterous. :-) there are a number of restaurants in a row in uptown on third street I believe. Where the discovery place/Imaginon is.

If it was my first date I would try one of the restaurants in the Metropolitan complex right next to the greenway...

Second suggestion would be The Kings Kitchen followed by a walk around Uptown....

If it's a first date the walk in the park can be a little uncomfortable for a first date.. a "where is this guy taking me?" type of deal. I always suggest bowling or pool or some other activity that lightens the mood up a little.

I saw a billboard for that. As someone who came from a city with one of the largest "Taste of" festivals, I'm really looking forward to checking that out

As someone who's been to the Charlotte "Taste of Charlotte", I would not want to be taken there for a first date (or any date). It's always hotter than he** and packed with people looking for free stuff. How about 300 East in Dilworth? Easy parking, lots of character, not loud.
