Hello,

I wonder if anyone can help. My wife and I want to start a new business that would be selling food at flea markets. Being fairly new to the area, we don't have any idea where we can prepare the food. Does someone know of a reasonable commercial kitchen for rent in the area?

Thank you!!
Scott

Default Thank You

I did some more research and saw this one, but it seemed really expensive to me.....particularly the rate to keep your cart at their location. Are these pretty standard fees for the industry?

Thank you again!!

Around here...yes, that's pretty much standard for here. Not a lot of competition for commissaries in Charlotte. CCK is a really nice facility and you won't have any problems getting permitted with them. There's a lot of ways around using them, you can try to find a church that will let you use their kitchen. There are some other commissaries outside of CLT, but none that are more than just a cooktop type of place. Maybe a restaurant that doesn't open until later in the day, but that has its own set of issues. It all comes down to the health inspection. A lot of places don't want the extra inspection. Churches don't want the hassle especially if they don't know you.
