I'm attending a conference in this September for a conference. I am looking at renting a house via airbnb near by and wanted to know if they convention center area in general is considered walkable?

The convention center area is on the edge of downtown and is walkable. Its close to the museums, parks and the new baseball stadium. The light rail goes through the convention center and there is a stop nearby to take you to Southend and other points south of downtown. Not sure if you are renting a house in one of the neighborhoods close to downtown (Dilworth, Elizabeth), but Dilworth and Southend are the most convenient in terms of walking to the convention center. Unless of course you are renting a condo in the city center itself. Hope that was helpful.
