Hello,
I am looking to move to NC within the next year for a teaching job and am curious as to how the schools are there in Charlotte ? Any recommendations on a specific district or charter school to look into?

thanks

You can find good info on schools in and around Charlotte on links I put on this thread http://www.city-data.com/forum/charl...ce-please.html

Charlotte itself is one big district.

If you want to be in Charlotte you contact Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.

Other cities within the Charlotte metro have smaller school systems, but some very fine schools.

Charlotte has some award winning schools and some mediocre schools - just depends on what area the schools are in. Some of the more challenged schools could really use young enthusiastic teachers.

You do know what teachers get paid in NC correct? As lovesMountains pointed out there are some strong schools between good public, magnet, and private schools are big business here. There are some middle of the road schools, and then there are some pretty horribly ranked schools. Depending on what you want there are many options. CMS is in Charlotte, you also have Union county, Gaston county, Iredell County, and Cabarrus county in NC with York County just over the border in SC alll in the metro area.
