I need someone to come out and do reverse suction on my central vacuuming system. It appears hubby sucked up a piece of clothing and thus stopped up one of the "tubes" of the system.

It is definitely not an engine problem.

The man who regularly took care of our system has retired. I talked with him and he said he didn't know of anyone else who services Central Vac systems or he would recommend them.

All I need is someone with a really powerful vac to come hook it up and suck the material out of the tubing. That is what was done on two previous occasions when hubby gobbled something up with the vacuum cleaner, lol.

I have posted on several sites on FaceBook and for some reason, people see Central Vac and think of HVAC! This is for a central vacuuming system, not AC/Heat.

It appears there are companies here who will install central vac systems - but no one has a repair service, except for MOTORS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am in South Charlotte. Thanks!

There's a company called central vac actually that I am thinking of. They do both repair and installation. You can also try calling the Sewing and Vacuum store in stonecrest on Rea Road and Ballantyne Commons to see if he knows of anyone if he doesn't himself do it.

Googled it and yep, it's called Central Vac, http://www.vacuumsalescharlotte.com/contact-us/

Google Central Vacuum Stores and give them a call. Ask to speak to Roger. He is the owner and his son lives in Fort Mill and might be able to help you out or recommend someone.

Yes, that is the company I have used but they are now out of business. The gentleman that owned the company has retired. I spoke with him this week.

He was wonderful! So I am at a loss where to find someone to help me.

Yes because in a third world country, you would have a maid do it.

We did some reading and figured out how to "unstop" the pipes ourselves. Hubby had sucked up a small hand towel which had evidently fallen under the bed and he didn't look under the bed before vacuuming. He was trying to help out around the house, but this is not the first time he has sucked something up . . .

I got a laugh about this being a First World Problem. Vacuuming is not a luxury. And a central vacuum is not a luxury. They last longer than a high end vac and ours is also an air purifier, which is really important when you have severe allergies. High end vacuum cleaners are expensive. Our central vac has been wonderful - including with managing dog hair.

If I had a housekeeper, I guess I wouldn't need the vac . . . they could bring theirs, lol. (That was cute, btw, momtothree!) :-)
