The Register of Deeds in Mecklenburg County has rolled out a new version of their website. You can pick up a copy of your deed and other documents at Welcome - Mecklenburg NC Web Access

I recommend putting your name (last name first) under both grantor and grantee under OPR to start with.

Have fun with it.

Nice public service announcement, GCharlotte! Thank you for letting us know - I had not been on that site in a while.

I thought the old site was just fine, and this one is a little laggy, but I suppose its good that they combined the 1990-1995 and 1995-present into one search. Now if only they would let us search judgments from home! Arg!

You can search judgements from home through the court system. It'll run you about a grand per month if that's what you're talking about.

There are some bugs in the new system. Hopefully it will get faster. I like how you can search on more than one category at a time.

they had to upgrade because they upgraded the internal system.

Yeah a grand a month is a bit excessive, they need something reasonable

They don't want us to have it. They don't even want to keep the copiers at the courthouse working.

FYI, the public terminals at the courthouse for civil fillings is also availalbe in person at the Register of Deeds office. I often do my initial court searches there because the hardware is more reliable.
