I am driving from Cary to the Zedd concert at the Uptown Amphitheatre Tuesday. I expect to leave mid-morning (want to go to IKEA while I'm there!) and may take the back roads (US1-24-27-74) across rather than take I-40 up through Greensboro and down to I-85. Going home from the show, however, I need to take the interstate back to Cary.
Now that NCMF has been around for a few years and the complex expanded, how is traffic egress after shows? Is it a clusterf or fairly manageable? Any recommendations for where to park within the big lot (to facilitate quicker exit)?
The show is scheduled to start at 6:30pm, but 4 acts will play. Is the 11pm sound ordinance still in effect? Just trying to guesstimate what time I'll get out of there. It sucks, but my family has one car only and it's needed in Cary at 2:30 am to get my hubby to work.
I've been to several big name acts there and never had any problems getting out. Traffic seemed to move along fine. They have police directing which helps.
Thanks for the help -- traffic was fine. Show ended at 11pm and by 11:15pm I was booking it up I-77.
