I wanted to see opinions on Time Warner Internet, uptime, and if you do actually tend to get the speed or close to what you are paying for. I know about probably 3+ years ago we had Time Warner Internet and it went out a few times, not a ton.
We switched to U-Verse and honestly it's been great with 12 down but now we are paying so much and 10-12 down is about the lowest speed we would go to. U-Verse where I live can get up to 18 but I see time Warner now I can get 50 down for less a month even at regular price that 12 down on U-Verse.
Has anyone had Time Warner recently, good, bad? U-Verse has gone up so much I may call in and see what they can do but even like 20+ off, would still maybe match time Warner price but much lower speed. I would plan on using my own router, may need to buy a newer one.
I have Time Warner and I'm happy. It's very rarely down for me in Huntersville, and they increased my speeds last summer so my 30 down plan increased to 200 down. According to speedtest I get 200-230 down, and my download speeds reflect that.
Time Warner greatly increased their speeds for all users last year. I went from 15 down to getting around 115 Mbps down according to speedtest.net. The service rarely goes out. I'd strongly recommend them over AT&T.
We have uverse. It's been fine. about comparable to time warner for us. We have att cell phones and by being a UVerse customer we now have unlimited data.
Time Warner has better speeds and features at a better price but you have the reliability of cable. It's not near as bad as Charter cable though..
We get outages for Time Warner about once a week for an hour but the speeds are better and it's at least $20.00 cheaper. I think it's because density here in Kannapolis.
The only thing better than cable(DOCSIS) is fiber. The AT&T U-Verse fiber hybrid is still slower than cable though. Satellite(Windstream etc..) and the cell(LTE,GPRS) based solution are so expensive per-GB they aren't even worth considering..
