I'm currently in the process of obtaining a job in the mooresville area and looking for advice on where to live. Being a 23 year old guy Moving to a new city alone, Id like to be in an area where it is easier to meet new people my age. I'm looking for a place with decent nightlife. I have looked at Huntersville and Mooresville area, but everywhere online says the best place for someone my age would be Uptown or atleast somewhere in the city. The commute makes me nervous. Not looking to spend an hour commuting each way. I've also looked at Davidson as an option as the college type of town seems like a good option. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This is a big change up for me so trying to find the best option. Thanks!
South End, Uptown, Noda, Plaza Midwood, etc... near the city center are common areas for people your age, but Davidson and Cornelius are good options as well. There are a lot of young people attracted to life near the lake that like to take their kayaks out, stand up paddle board, etc...
If you are working in Mooresville but live uptown the commute will be rough. In particular going home. The traffic on 77 can be bad...especially around exit 31 (Lowe's corporate) south.
My wife LOATHED her daily drive from Charlotte (Cotswold) to Davidson for a few years. You're reverse commuting, but it doesn't matter- 77 is a nightmare.

I agree. It used to be only bad traveling to Charlotte. Now 77 is hey lets go sit in traffic. It should of been 4 lanes each way 20 years ago.
I agree with the others. The commute on I-77 is a nightmare. You would be reverse commuting (if living in Charlotte) but it would still be awful.
I would check out central Huntersville and Davidson. Neither will be as active as central Charlotte but you should be able to find a place with a number of younger people. Good luck!
If you are working in Mooresville, living in Mooresville would be your best option but Davidson would be good too. Check out apartments that have common areas such as swimming pools or gyms. Those could be your best bet at meeting people your age. The Lowes YMCA is also a Great place to meet people if you can afford the monthly fee. Good luck
